Navratri on October 2, 2011

 

We are not able to hear, but we can worship goddess Amba by offering Raas-Garba.

To mark the festival of Navratri a special event of Raas-Garba for Deaf people organized at Balbhavan in Rajkot by Deaf Association of Rajkot. In this events people of Virani Deaf School along with other children of city participated and even though they are not able to hear tune of music, they have performed beautiful dance steps in various dances to worship goddess Amba in nine night festival. In this programme gifts were given to best performers, list is as below...

World Deaf Day on September 26, 2011

 

To mark the celebration of the World Deaf Day and create awareness on Deafness, a rally by Deaf people organised in Rajkot.

September 26, 2011 was celebrated as the World Deaf Day and to mark this celebration in Rajkot, Deaf Association of Rajkot has organized a rally by the Deaf people to create awareness on deafness in society. In this rally more then 270 Deaf boy and girls have enthusiastically participated. In this rally students of Rajkot's Virani Deaf School and of Dr.P.V.Doshi Deaf School have participated.

The message of rally was to create awareness of how to prevent deafness in the society. Participants with placard like provide equality not sympathy to Deaf people in society, Deafness is not a curse but it is God's creation etc. shown to the passerby on the road on the route of rally. The rally was commenced from Indira Circle and ended at Jubilee circle near Mahatma Gandhi's statue, where participants offered garland of cotton threads to Mahatma's statue.

To make this event success, Industrialist Vasantbhai Mangrolia, Hasubhai Joshi, Nishithbhai Trivedi, Kanubhai Pancholi, Pankajbhai Muchala, Kusumben Chuhan, Krishnaben Sapra gave their support. Ashok Kukadia and Hiren Pandya of Rajkot Deaf Association offered cotton threads to Mahatma's statue and pray for the equality and basic rights of Deaf people in the society.

Dear friends.

Deaf Association of rajkot has organized a seminar for the Deaf children and youth of Gujarat and Saurashtra on the occasion of Janmashtami at Rajkot's Maniar Hall. From entire State more then 475 deaf children have participated enthusiastically.

In this day long seminar information like Deaf technology to help Deaf people, about deaf youth conference, film prepared by Deaf people and counseling were made on various problems faced by deaf people in their daily life during this seminar.

To make this seminar success Hasubhai Joshi, Nishith Trivedi, Kashyap Pancholi, Pankaj Muchala, Hiren Pandya, Ashok Kukadia, Anirudhsinh Zala, Mitesh Kakad, Bhavesh Bhadeshiya, Rashmi Seth, Paresh Goswami, Hitesh Thakkar and Pravin Makwana made efforts.

All the participants were offered morning tea and breakfast, lunch and evening tea and snacks by the donor Pramodbhai (Lords Banquet), Vasant Mangrolia, Devrajbhai and all the trustees of Jubilee Sat Hanuman temple. Trustees of Virani Deaf of the School Hasubhai Joshi, Prafulbhai Gohil, Principal Kanubhai Pancholi, teachers Kusumben Chuhan, Hinaben Bosamiya, Diptiben Bhuva, Krishnaben Sapra, Dpitiben Chandarana and Madhuben Bharad remain present and encouraged the participants.

Inagural Function of DAOR on June 05, 2011

For the help and guidance of Deaf people from city, a NGO ‘Deaf Association of Rajkot’ has formed.

In Rajkot city and district many Deaf children and youngsters are facing problems like marriage, feeling of neglecting, unemployment, and education etc since long. To answer all these problems and to avail them with basic scientific and technological facilities and to help them out as a guide, mentor and friend a NGO ‘Deaf Association of Rajkot’ was launched on June 5, 2011 at a function held at Arvind Maniar Auditorium in Rajkot.

The function has inaugurated at 4.30 pm on June 5 by lightening traditional lamp by the Mayor of Rajkot Shri Janakbhai Kotak. Editor of Divya Bhaskar Shri Kanabhai Bantwa, Trustee of Viran Deaf School of Rajkot Shri Hasmukhbhai Joshi, Principal Shri Kanubhai Pancholi and organizer shri Pankajbhai Muchala remained present at the function. Well wisher of family, Shri Dinubhai Pancholi, Prnincipal of Bahuchar Vidhyalaya and Shri Lakshmikant Pancholi gave word of blessings in their speeches.

To attend this function more then 250 deaf people from entire State arrived at the venue. In this function office bearers of the association also appointed, Shri Nishitbhai Trivedi appointed as President, Shri Hiren Pandya as Secretary and other member of the team declared as Mitesh Kakkad, Ashokbhai Kukadia, Paresh Goswami, Hitesh Thakkar, Anirudhsinh Zala, Rashmi Seth, Bhavesh Bhadeshia, Dinesh Sitapara, Pravin Makwana. Shri Kashyap Pancholi is appointed as advisor member. Shital Dama has Interpreter the function.
